Key responsibilities -

Filming & Production

Your role will involve communicating your ideas with clients which can include the creation of storyboarding to support our clients in their vision of the final output and make suggestions/give direction as to how a project should be completed.

A key part of this role will be the filming aspect. You will need to be confident, client-facing, and capable of running your own productions. Sometimes, we're put into not-so-ideal filming situations, so the candidate will need to be creative and able to create a fresh image in any scenario. The majority of productions are a 2 videographer team or more, but there will be occasions where you will be filming solo.

Experience in pre-production is vital. Pre-production meetings, creating agendas, shot lists, kit lists and more to ensure that productions go smoothly.

You will need to be knowledgeable in a variety of film equipment including cameras (Mirrorless, and Cinema Cameras), lenses, gimbals, lighting, sound, and drones are a bonus!

You will need to know how to set up the equipment mentioned above, for different scenarios including, interviews, product shoots, and more.

It is a requirement to have had 2+ years of on-set experience, either as a freelancer or within an agency/company.

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software, in particular, Premiere Pro and After Effects is essential.

Handling data correctly, including following procedures and naming conventions is essential.

Photography

As well as filming you will be required to occasionally take stills and will need to be competent with necessary stills cameras and Adobe Lightroom. Photoshop is a bonus!

Editing & Post-Production

Alongside the filming tasks, we would like an applicant who is able to cover the day-to-day editing tasks when you're not out on shoots. The beauty of what we do is we work in so many different sectors. Your editing tasks could vary massively from a talking head interview to a racehorse promotional video, to an event video.

Having knowledge of colour correction and colour grading is important. (Lumetri Colour or Davinci Resolve)

You must have the knowledge to mix audio for interviews and add sound design (music and sound effects)

Whilst filming and editing are the primary aspects of the role, having motion graphics/After Effects knowledge is a bonus.

There will be a need to remain inside brand guidelines and/or work to a brief.

Creative

We strive to create new approaches and fresh ideas, so having an interest in growing and developing your skills is really important. We invest in our employees that want to progress their careers and learn new skills, whether it's expanding knowledge into 3D or getting your Drone permissions. We will invest the time and resources to allow you to grow your skillset.

There is no pre-set mould of what we are looking for. It's about your creativity, expertise, strengths, competence, and personality - It's about how you fit into an ambitious and charismatic team. Don't worry if you don't have a degree or an extensive CV. Your

showreel/portfolio

is what will make you shine, we like experience but also value fresh ideas.

We are based in Roade, Northampton but work where we are needed, including abroad for weeks at a time, so flexibility and agility are valuable assets too. You will need to be able to travel and work from our studio in Northampton when you are not on shoots.
