Tutor levels
Student Tutor
Tutors typically aged 18-25 who do not yet hold a degree and have limited teaching experience but are competent on their instrument (Grade 8+) and keen to develop their skills. This level is ideal for current university students studying music who want to gain real teaching experience, as it also includes a limited amount of free mentoring
Pro Tutor
-
t
_his is where most of our tutors start*_
Unless your CV, playing level and professional experience is truly spectacular, this is where you'd likely start with us. Pro Tutors are usually recent university graduates with limited teaching experience, or experienced tutors / musicians who do not hold a degree in music.
Trusted Tutor
This is for tutors with a very strong performing and teaching background who have been working with us for at least 12 months and received consistently glowing student feedback, demonstrate a positive attitude and a team mentality, and are well organised and responsive with their communication.
Occasionally, new tutors start here, but only if they have exceptional skills and experience, such as being the Head of Music at a top performing school, playing in an orchestra, or equivalent achievements in their field.
Super Tutor
Super Tutors typically have over 10 years of teaching experience and an exceptional background in teaching, performing, or both.
This may include heads of department, members of established orchestras, or comparable achievements in popular music.
They provide outstanding tuition for students who want to learn from the very best at a slightly higher price.
Tutors may apply to become a Super Tutor once they have worked with us as a Trusted Tutor for at least 18 months.
