Grade 5- 34,416- 37,356 per annum -6 x Month Fixed Term Contract/Secondment Opportunity

The Financial assessment Team is recruiting for a visiting officer role. The aim of this role is to provide customers who need it the appropriate support to complete their financial assessment and ensure fairly about their ability to contribute towards the cost of their care.


This role would be pivotal to ensure that customers are receiving the most appropriate outcomes to their financial assessment. The visiting officer role will ensure that the number of non-disclosures assessments are reduced to a minimum by providing the support to customer who are not in the position to complete a form and/or providing us with the supporting documents requested.


Main duties of the role



Ensure that the service user is aware of the charging process and how it may affect them


Ensure that the service user is aware of the costs of the services and how it may affect them. Assist the service user (or their representative) to complete a financial assessment form Determine the value of the service users' income and capital assets in relation to the charging policy and procedure. Establish the service users' income and capital assets about the charging policy and the effect this will have on their charge for services Establish the service user's household setting e.g has a partner ; is a boarder so that the impact of their financial commitments can be determined in the assessment context.

Generic administration



Make referrals where appropriate for specialist or independent advice, for assistance, for support and advice specifically on referals within the Council for social care needs. Record relevant statistics Address any queries raised from the issue of invoices for care and take the appropriate action to resolve (Non-Residential care only)
