Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Duty Manager

to join our Visitor Experience and Ticketing team on a full-time, permanent basis.


In this role, you will help lead the day-to-day operations of our vibrant and iconic site. As a key member of the team, you'll play an important role in ensuring a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all visitors, staff, and performers. Key Responsibilities:



Ensure the safety and security of our busy, public-facing site at all times Present and maintain all working areas to a high and consistent standard Act as an ambassador for the Southbank Centre's values by fostering a warm, inclusive and welcoming environment Deliver a well-organised, informed and thoughtful experience for all visitors, audiences and colleagues Lead by example to build a respectful, collaborative and visitor-focused culture within the team

We're Looking for Someone Who:



Has experience in venue management, ideally within a complex arts or performance environment Can demonstrate confidence and adaptability when supporting and motivating large teams in busy, audience-focused settings Possesses working knowledge of Health & Safety and Fire Regulations, and ideally holds (or is eligible to hold) a Personal Licence Makes thoughtful, timely decisions and works proactively to identify and remove barriers that might affect team performance or visitor experience Adapts their leadership style to different situations, creating space for all team members to contribute


We also value candidates who bring skills in training or presenting to groups, and who are comfortable using communication and IT tools to support team coordination. An interest in the arts, alongside an understanding of the importance of equity, diversity and inclusion in public cultural spaces, is highly desirable. The role requires flexibility, including regular evening and weekend work, and a commitment to making the Southbank Centre a welcoming place for everyone.



At The Southbank Centre we aim to provide safe participatory and creative opportunities for all the children and young people who take part in our programmes and visit our site. As this role requires working closely with children and/or vulnerable adults, you would be required to apply for a Criminal Record Check via the Disclosure and Barring Service, if you were offered the role. This is in line with our Safeguarding Policy and is a key requirement of this role.
