Job Description

As a Visitor Operations Assistant, you will be an ambassador for the work and aims of Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust, providing the highest levels of visitor welcome and customer service. Your primary role will be to welcome and help our visitors book tours, events, afternoon tea and more. You will be a proactive on-floor presence, assisting visitors and supporting line managers by maximising customer satisfaction, audience numbers and income generation opportunities. In addition, you will provide support for events, exhibitions and other activities where relevant.

Role duties:



Provide outstanding visitor service and customer care.

Experience in sales in a similar environment.

Make tour and event bookings, both over the phone, online and in person.

Organise group and coach company bookings.

Collaborative working with other teams within the business

Work with computerised EPOS (till) operating systems, including online ticketing and payments.

Be a self-motivated team player with the energy and enthusiasm for delivering objectives and KPIs, including annual membership and Gift Aid on Admission

Experience of cash handling and till reconciliation

Attend training courses as necessary, as well as Team Meetings

Work flexibly to cover the operational hours -inc. some weekends, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and other Bank Holidays.

Strong IT skills, confident in using Microsoft packages, including Word, Outlook and Teams.

Essential Criteria

Experience of working in a busy service environment, preferable in a customer-facing role. Demonstrable excellence in customer care Experience of cash handling and reconciliation Experience of computerised till EPOS systems and online ticketing systems. Working towards KPIs and targets such as Gift Aid Excellent communication and people skills A keen attention to detail Strong IT skills, confident in using Microsoft packages, including Word, Outlook and Teams. Ability to work as part of a team Have a smart appearance and confidence when working with the public Ability to work well under pressure, and remain calm in a busy environment A flexible and positive approach Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. Awareness of the implications of social media in a workplace
Desirable Criteria

Knowledge and understanding of local history. First Aid qualification
