We have an incredible new opportunity for a Vocational Hair Tutor to join Landau. As a Hair Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering Hair & Beauty qualifications, creating tailored learner journeys and action plans that address the individual needs and learning styles of our learners. The role involves teaching small groups or 1:1, working collaboratively with other staff, and actively engaging and motivating learners with enthusiasm and passion

Key responsibilities will include:

Support on the design, development and delivery of the Hair Qualification to meet the diverse needs of learners including those with Education, Health Care Plans

To establish and maintain an effective learning environment, in line with behaviour management policies, safeguarding students and employees health and safety

Assess, record and report on learners' progress.

Work to establish supportive relationships with learners, parents and carers in order to facilitate effective communication and partnership

Carrying out pre-determined educational / training activities and work programmes ensuring that specific guidelines are followed whilst promoting independent learning to support the learner's understanding and engagement

Support learners to develop emotional and physical resilience to enable them to make progress towards their career and life goals

Promote and reinforce learners' self-esteem and encourage learners to maximise their achievement and development

To work within the framework of all Landau Policies and Procedures

Support with preparation of folders for external moderation

Support with examinations including invigilation duties

Support on continuous improvement in subject curriculum area, CPD and own professional practice working as a key part of a committed and motivated delivery team

To lead the class if the tutor is on holiday or off sick as a short term basis.

Attending and contributing to learner review meetings with coordinator and support staff in order to support the monitoring and development of the learner where appropriate.

To establish and maintain effective working relationships. This may involve attending meetings (which may sometimes occur outside core working hours).

Commit to professional development cascading and sharing professional insight and staying abreast of statutory and non-statutory guidance relevant to the programme delivery

Technical competency (qualifications and training certificates/licenses)



Subject specialist qualification (E) Assessor (D) PTTLS or AET Level 3 (D) Strong IT skills and competence with Microsoft suite (D)

Experience



Subject specific experience of at least 2 years (D) Experience of Education, Health & Care Plans (D) Good knowledge of the Education and Inspection Framework (D) Good knowledge of compliance and quality assurance requirements for awarding bodies (D) Pastoral support (D) Some knowledge of supporting young people with mental health issues (D)

Working Pattern: 1 day per week

Salary: 4,832.88 - 5,638.36 (25,200 - 29,400 FTE) per annum
