Job Description

Axtell is a long established and expanding supplier of goods and services to the construction industry. We have depots in Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. From our depot at Thatcham we supply ready-mix concrete to the surrounding area.

We are looking for experienced HGV drivers to drive volumetric concrete mixer trucks.

Tasks and duties will include:

Delivering, batching, and pouring concrete. Operating mixer (full training can be given). Loading mixer with loading shovel (full training can be given). Be capable of operating machinery and carrying out routine vehicle checks. Making sure that the load is correctly secured by use of an easy sheet. Issuing receipts. Customer service
To successfully secure this opportunity, you must:

Hold a HGV Class 2 licence. Have a digital-tacho card and driver CPC. Be reliable, punctual, and self-motivated. Have a great attitude and strong work ethic. Be capable and confident in your ability. Have a good geographical knowledge of our operating area. Have a positive attitude towards maintaining and improving health and safety standards.

We offer top rates of pay and are currently happy to consider hiring on a full time basis or as a self employed contractor. In addition to daywork, we undertake supplies of specialist concrete to the highways industry nationally, with the opportunity to undertake night/weekend work at higher pay rates.
