Overview

Are you passionate about sustainability or books?

To help maximise the value of donated books which cannot be sold in our shops by using a handheld scanner system to identify titles for online sales, supporting the charity in raising vital funds. Full training will be provided but being able to use a laptop or tablet for simple tasks would be beneficial.

Online retail is an important way to raise funds for the hospice.

Using digital platforms can help us maximise the value of items generously donated for our care. With your help, we can raise the essential funds that keep our care going.

Duties

Use handheld scanner to check value to books and media - scanning the ISBN or barcode Preparing items- Box up and label ready for collection Checking items are complete and good quality Highlighting any issues Interest in helping the retail team

Skills and Qualities required

Comfortable using a computer along with other technology

Good written and verbal communication skills

Friendly manner

Enthusiasm and the ability to work both independently and in a team

Good attention to detail

Training and support

You will gain skills and experience in the e-commerce / retail sector. This could be a great addition to your CV!

You will receive full training and support to help you to improve your confidence and understanding for this role. You will be required to complete mandatory training before you begin your role.

Regular reviews will take place and an opportunity given for peer support through networking events with other Lewis-Manning Hospice Care volunteers.

You will be invited to attend Volunteer Training Day's as/when required.

There will also be the possibility of getting involved in other areas of fundraising if this is of interest, working with other members of the retail team or if you have your own ideas and initiatives

Job Types: Part-time, Volunteer

Pay: 0.01 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 2 per week
