Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic Volunteers to join our team at Foresight. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our mission by assisting disabled individuals and their families, helping them navigate challenges and enhancing their quality of life.

Responsibilities

Assists service users on and off the minibus, ensuring seatbelts are used and the driver is not distracted. Assist with daily activities for disabled individuals, promoting independence and dignity. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients. Reporting incidents to members of staff (including reception), the volunteer co-coordinator or to management when necessary. Treating our Service Users and other Volunteer Support Workers with respect.

Requirements

Strong communication skills. A compassionate attitude towards individuals with disabilities. Experience in dementia care or similar fields is a plus but not required.
All applicants will be subjected to a DBS check.

Please note, this is a full day volunteer role - the pick up route begins in Grimsby at approximately 8:15am, and ends in Scunthorpe at about 10am. Volunteers support activities in the day centre which run from 10am until 3pm, and the drop off route will end back in Grimsby at approximately 4:30pm. We would ask potential volunteers to commit to one full day a week at minimum (weekdays only).
