Our office is based in Accrington (BB5 0EY).

Hours:

18 hours per week (occasional evenings and weekends)

26,045.36 (pro rata for 18 hours = 12,501.77)

Annual Leave:

As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing our volunteer program and implementing our volunteer strategy. You will be responsible forrecruiting, training, and retaining volunteers who share our commitment to Spring into Action. The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with other team members within the organisation to ensure that volunteer efforts align with our goals and contribute to the overall success of our programs.

Main Responsibilities



Volunteer Recruitment:

Develop and implement effective strategies to recruit, induct and offerongoing support to volunteers. Ensure a diverse and skilled pool of individuals to support ourservices. Engage with individuals with and without lived experience of learning disability andautism.

Training and Development:

Conduct comprehensive induction and ongoing training forvolunteers, providing them with the necessary information and resources to excel in their roles.Undertake keeping in touch meetings to provide feedback to volunteers on their role and conduct,identify and review volunteer goals and support them to acheive these.

Communication:

Maintain regular communication with team members and volunteers to keepthem informed about upcoming events, opportunities and organisational updates. Address anyconcerns or challenges that may arise. Attend regular team meetings. Create and send regularvolunteer newsletters and hold monthly drop in sessions.

Recognition and Appreciation:

Identify and implement opportunities to acknowledge andappreciate the contributions of volunteers. Organise celebration days and ensure volunteers feelconnected and valued.

Record-Keeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of volunteer information, hoursworked, and other relevant data via our CRM and other systems ensuring it is collected and storedin line with GDPR and monitoring requirements. Track hours, activities, and engagement andprepare reports on volunteer engagement for team meetings, funders and the board of directorsas required.

Evaluation & Improvement:

Conduct regular evaluations of the volunteer strategy to identifyareas for improvement and implement changes as necessary. Identify and implementimprovements for volunteer development, engagement and program impact.

Community Engagement & Promotion:

Build relationships with local individuals andorganisations in the community to promote volunteer and other opportunities. Promote volunteerroles and the wider organisation through social media, direct marketing and communityengagement and networking events.

Sustainability:

Work with senior management team to review and update the volunteer strategybased on knowledge of the volunteer needs to ensure a sustainable program. Identify potentialopportunities for corporate volunteer engagement.

General Duties:

To represent the organisation positively at all times; be aware of project targetsand the wider strategic objectives of the organisation and assist in working towards these;understand and adhere to all policies and procedures; maintain personal and professionaldevelopment at all times; undertake appropriate training as required; undertake such other duties,training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with thegeneral level of responsibility of this role.
