We're looking for someone to join the Nottinghamshire portfolio team, to work across a cluster of properties to deliver a high quality volunteering experience, that is inclusive, flexible and offers public benefit. Your role will operate as a Head of Department, working closely with the Community, Participation & Volunteering Manager, to support the growth and diversification of volunteering at our special places, as we embark upon our new organisational strategy.

What you'll be doing:You will be specialist in your field with great knowledge in participatory practice, growing and diversifying volunteering, leading for an inclusive people culture both on and off property.


You'll be delivering a high quality volunteering experience, collaborating with teams to deliver end to end volunteer journey including planning volunteer recruitment, inductions, training, management, recognition, complaints and exit. You'll be using data and insights to make effective decisions, ensuring that standards are continually met across the portfolio.


Building open and empathetic relationships, you'll expand people's trust and perception of volunteering, welcoming new volunteers and help creating a positive, inclusive and engaging experience for all volunteers, volunteer managers and partners. You'll be making a difference, adapting to change and dealing with issues as they arise.

experience of supporting volunteering in a way that is safe, inclusive and enjoyable able to coach and support colleagues who work with volunteers confident in recognising and sharing the benefits volunteers bring to the organisation ability to ensure volunteers can share their views and feel heard ability to create more chances for people to get involved in ways that suit them
Additional criteria for all other applicants:
confident and capable in coaching and developing leadership with team volunteer managers experience of supporting individuals through challenging conversations and conflict resolution process
