Hourly Pay: Voluntary



9.00am - 3.30pm (Flexible Days)



Overview:



As a Minibus Driver for the IRC Program, you will play a vital role in supporting the transportation needs of the Inclusive Recovery Cities (IRC) program. Reporting directly to the Program Lead, you will ensure that our community members can easily access various programs and events around Birmingham. This role is crucial in promoting inclusion and support within the recovery community.

Requirements:



Valid Driver's License: Must hold a valid UK driver's license with a clean driving record. Category D1 license preferred.

Experience: Previous experience driving a minibus or similar vehicle is highly desirable.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with program participants, staff, and community members.

Reliability: Punctual and dependable, with a strong sense of responsibility.

Compassion: Understanding and empathetic towards the needs of individuals in recovery and the broader community.

Organisational Skills: Ability to manage schedules and maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities



Transportation Services:



Safely transport IRC program participants to and from various locations around Birmingham, including community centres, educational institutions, and event sites.

Regularly inspect the minibus to ensure it is in good working condition, report any issues promptly, and arrange for routine maintenance and repairs as needed.

Work closely with the Program Lead to plan and coordinate transportation schedules, ensuring timely pick-ups and drop-offs.

Participant Assistance:



Provide assistance to passengers as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport. This may include helping with boarding and alighting the minibus.

Adhere to all road safety regulations and organisational policies, maintaining a clean driving record. Ensure all passengers wear seat belts and follow safety protocols.

Record Keeping:



Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger numbers.

Complete any required documentation and reports.

Community Engagement:



Represent the IRC program positively within the community, fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
