Volunteer Outreach & Partnership Specialist

Barnet, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

About Us

Tell My Truth & Shame The Devil is a UK-registered Community Interest Company (CIC) that provides a revolutionary podcast and media platform dedicated to exposing truth, empowering survivors, and fostering collective healing within the Black British Caribbean community. Our focus is on survivors of childhood sexual abuse who have long been silenced, misrepresented, or shamed into secrecy.

We believe in the power of storytelling, cultural therapy, and strategic visibility to reclaim narratives, break generational cycles, and spark radical transformation.

Our core values are:

Truth as Power

Love as Law

Each One Teach One

Black Cultural Sovereignty

Healing Through Honesty

We are building a strong, grassroots team of creatives, outreach leaders, and media change makers to help elevate and protect this movement.

Role Purpose

As a Volunteer Outreach & Partnership Specialist, you will be a key architect in building relationships with podcast guests, grassroots organisations, charities, sponsors, and advocates who share our mission. You'll take the lead in curating safe, empowering guest experiences and securing strategic partners that allow us to grow sustainably and reach further into the community.

This role is ideal for someone with passion for justice, knowledge of the Black British and Caribbean experience, and the emotional intelligence to support trauma-informed work.

Key Responsibilities

Podcast Guest Outreach & Curation (Primary)

Research, identify, and reach out to potential guests from the Black British Caribbean community who are survivors of childhood sexual trauma and wish to share their stories on the podcast. Establish a sensitive, professional communication flow with potential guests, addressing any concerns and explaining our mission. Vet candidates to ensure alignment with the platform's ethics and safety requirements. Manage scheduling, onboarding, and aftercare for guests -- including coordinating recordings and Sunday follow-up sessions. Keep accurate records of outreach efforts using tools like Trello, Notion, Airtable, or spreadsheets.
Strategic Partnerships & Sponsorships

Research and approach potential sponsors, charities, brands, media companies, mental health providers, and cultural organisations aligned with our values. Assist in drafting partnership proposals, sponsorship decks, or collaboration briefs. Maintain a database of ongoing relationships, contacts, and partnership pipelines. Work alongside the marketing and fundraising teams to ensure alignment with wider growth and funding strategy.
General Contribution

Attend monthly team meet-ups (expenses paid). Participate in cross-team brainstorms, planning sessions, and strategy reviews. Contribute to the overall vision and sustainability of the CIC. Be an active advocate of our values and help promote the podcast in your networks.
