About the Role
Caring and Sharing Rochdale is seeking a proactive and people-focused Volunteer Programme Manager to lead and support our growing team of volunteers. Volunteers are at the heart of our work--helping at the drop-in centre, community events, and outreach programmes.
This is a paid freelance management role ideal for someone who combines strong organisational skills with compassion and cultural sensitivity. You'll oversee all aspects of the volunteer journey--from recruitment and onboarding to retention, recognition, and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Lead volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and training Oversee volunteer scheduling and placement across programmes Provide ongoing support, supervision, and recognition for volunteers Maintain accurate volunteer records and contribute to monitoring and reporting Promote a positive, inclusive volunteer culture across the organisation
What We're Looking For
Experience managing or coordinating volunteers (ideally in a charity/community setting) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently, flexibly, and with initiative A genuine commitment to inclusion, empathy, and empowerment
Job Type: Freelance
Pay: 7,862.00 per year
