Job Description

Hywel Dda University Health Board are looking to recruit a permanent Waiting List Coordinator to join our Neurodevelopmental Team at Ty Gwili in Carmarthen .



This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires excellent communication skills with which to liaise with patients, relatives and members of the multi-disciplinary team. Experience in the use of systems such as WPAS is desirable.



As a waiting list co-ordinator you will provide comprehensive co-ordination and administrative support to the Neurodevelopment Team.



You will be expected to handle confidential health records, both manually and on Myrddin and demonstrate the ability to handle sensitive and confidential patient information, i.e. clinical letters, investigations and results.



The post holder will act as the first point of contact for all forms of communication within their designated waiting list specialties, from the Consultant and medical team, from GPs, patients and relatives and other hospitals.



Competent use of WPAS for entering and retrieving patient information - query?



You will provide comprehensive admin support, including diary management, arranging meetings including taking minutes, preparing reports, documents and other correspondence as directed.



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.



Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest

Five community hospitals:

Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire

Two integrated care centres:

Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings

47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers

Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
