We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting kitchen operations, ensuring that food is prepared safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation. Duties
Assist in food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
Support chefs during service by preparing garnishes and assisting with plating dishes.
Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed.
Engage with guests when necessary, providing excellent guest services and upselling menu items where appropriate.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods.
Take orders on POS system and complete preperation orders in store and online for consumption in-store and take away orders.
Skills
Previous experience in a hospitality or restaurant setting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
Basic culinary skills with an understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and managing portion sizes.
Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction.
