Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Runner to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Food Runner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests receive their orders promptly and accurately, contributing to an exceptional dining experience. You will work closely with the kitchen staff and front-of-house team to maintain high standards of service and food presentation.

Duties

Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to guests in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation meet our standards. Assist in setting up tables and preparing dining areas for service. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding orders, special requests, and any dietary restrictions. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the service area, including clearing tables and assisting with dishwashing when necessary. Upsell menu items by engaging with guests and providing recommendations based on their preferences. Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks as needed, adhering to food safety guidelines. Ensure all food safety practices are followed, including proper handling and storage of food items.

Skills

Strong understanding of culinary principles and food preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Basic maths skills for handling orders and payments accurately. Excellent guest service skills with a focus on hospitality. Ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment while maintaining attention to detail. Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential. A positive attitude and willingness to help colleagues as part of a team.
