Duties

Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Take accurate food and beverage orders, demonstrating strong knowledge of menu items and specials. Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness. Upsell menu items where appropriate to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities. Ensure food safety standards are adhered to during service, including proper handling and presentation of dishes. Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods. Manage guest requests promptly and courteously, resolving any issues to ensure satisfaction. Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations throughout shifts. Handle cash or electronic payments accurately, providing correct change or receipts.

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred but not essential; a keen willingness to learn is important. Knowledge of food safety regulations and basic food handling procedures. Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing and transactions. Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities to handle busy service periods effectively. Good communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanour when interacting with guests. Experience in serving or food preparation is advantageous; kitchen or culinary experience can be beneficial. Demonstrated guest service skills with the ability to upsell menu items naturally and confidently.
