We are looking for a compassionate and reliable
Waking Night Support Worker
to join our dedicated team at Calordomus Care, - a children's home that provides care, safety, and emotional security for children and young people with complex needs, often rooted in trauma, neglect, or disrupted attachments.
As a Waking Night Worker, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe, nurturing environment overnight, offering consistency and reassurance to children who may feel most vulnerable during the night hours.
What you'll do:
Stay awake and alert throughout the night to ensure the safety and welfare of all young people
Provide emotional support, comfort, and a calm presence if a child wakes distressed or anxious
Monitor the home, complete routine checks, and ensure the environment remains clean, secure, and settled
Record observations, incidents, and updates accurately
Work closely with day staff to ensure consistent care and handovers
Support children in developing healthy bedtime routines and sleep patterns
What we're looking for:
Kindness, empathy, and emotional resilience
The ability to stay calm and responsive in challenging or unexpected situations
Experience working with children or young people is desirable--but full training is provided
Good communication and recording skills
A strong sense of responsibility and professionalism
A Level 3/4 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential
