We are seeking a Rehabilitation Support Worker to provide an exceptional service for our client in Bury. This is a rewarding opportunity to be a part of our clients rehabilitation journey and support our client to achieve as much independence as possible. You will be working closely within a team helping to ensure that a continuity of care is provided to our clients.
We recognise the hard work, flexibility and commitment of our people so we offer a wide range of employee benefits, such as a thorough induction programme, on-going training to develop new and existing skills and a great employee Rewards scheme, where you will be able to receive a variety of discounts from major retailers.
About The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate support worker to provide overnight support to a 19-year-old male with an acquired brain injury and other complex needs. This is a rewarding role, where you will play a key part in supporting his night-time care and wellbeing in a calm, structured environment.
The client is independently mobile but requires full assistance with personal care, including pad changes throughout the night if needed, and medication administration. You will also support him with his bedtime routine, including assisting with bathing or showering, helping him get settled for the night, and preparing him for sleep. If he is awake, you'll offer calm, reassuring support and help with his morning routine.
There may be opportunities to support him with late-night community activities on occasion, and you will be involved in engaging him in evening activities within the home before bed. While he usually sleeps through the night, he may wake occasionally. During quieter periods, you'll help maintain the household by carrying out light domestic duties such as mopping floors and doing laundry, helping to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
The client can communicate, but often relies on facial expressions and body language, and can present with behaviours that challenge. Experience with de-escalation and a calm, empathetic approach is essential.
Your main attributes will be friendly, approachable and have empathy towards your client treating them with respect and dignity at all times. We support vulnerable people to live as independently as possible, by building their confidence and skills to realise their potential.
