The Role
As a
Waking Night Support Worker
, you will play a vital role in supporting our young people during the night. This includes
providing personal care
, ensuring
comfort and safety
, and responding calmly to emotional or health-related needs. You will also help ensure that the home is
clean, safe, and compliant with regulations throughout the night
.
Key Responsibilities
Support with personal care routines
, including toileting, washing, dressing, continence support, and mobility assistance -- always delivered with dignity and respect
Carry out night-time household tasks
such as cleaning communal areas, laundry, and maintaining hygiene standards set within health and safety guidelines
Complete accurate paperwork
, including sleep charts, daily logs, incident reports, and handovers
Read, follow, and implement care plans, risk assessments, and company procedures
at all times
Respond calmly to
emotional distress or changes in behaviour
, using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) techniques where applicable
Conduct
regular safety and wellbeing checks
throughout the night
About You
? Experience supporting individuals with
learning disabilities and/or autism
? Comfortable delivering
personal and intimate care
? Reliable, organised, and able to maintain
clear written records
? Able to follow structured routines while adapting to changing needs
? Knowledge of
safeguarding and communication methods
such as Makaton, PECS, or sensory strategies
? Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare / Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
