We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide essential assistance to children and young people within a Children's Home . The role involves working closely with individuals requiring additional support, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, experience with childcare, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities
Provide personalised support to children and young people, assisting with daily activities and routines
Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring consistent progress and well-being
Support children with their emotional, social, and behavioural development through engaging activities
Assist with transportation needs, including driving
Maintain clear communication with families, colleagues, and other professionals regarding progress and concerns
Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety policies at all times
Record detailed reports on daily activities, behavioural observations, and any incidents or concerns
Support children in developing life skills and fostering independence in line with care plans
Experience
Previous experience working with children or within childcare settings is highly desirable
Familiarity with creating and following care plans tailored to individual needs
Experience in driving or holding a valid driving licence is advantageous but not essential
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with children, families, and team members
Basic IT skills for maintaining records and completing documentation accurately
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies is preferred but training will be provided if necessary
Have the Level 4 Qualification in Children & Young People is desirable, if not have the ambition and motivation to complete this as part of your employment
