Job Title: WAKING NIGHT SUPPORT WORKER



Responsible to: Registered Manager



Overall Purpose: To provide the best possible care and support to people living at Elizabeth House. This includes people supported in their own homes. To be part of an effective service working within the requirements of the law and of the service and in supporting people to lead a fulfilling life which is person centered to each person's individual needs and preferences.



Main Duties:



People Using Services



1.1 Support people who use services to make their own decisions by providing a balanced range of information in a way that encourages the person to understand and make an informed decision.

1.2. Support people who services with personal care, as appropriate, their medication needs, and access to relevant health care services. To actively support the people we support to participate in their daily living.

1.3. Support people who use services in managing their finances and promoting independence.

1.4 Support people who use services to maintain and develop a variety of relationships, (e.g. families, friends and professionals).

1.5. Support people who use services in cooking, cleaning, gardening, laundry, ironing and household tasks to an appropriate standard.

1.6 Support people who use services in a range of leisure & social activities and services according to individual choice.

1.7. Support people in a person centred approach encouraging the person to develop their independent living skills and social opportunities.

1.8. Support people to ensure of their safety & well-being but ensuring of positive risk taking to promote further opportunities which may not be possible without trying new activities and approaches to support.

Roles & Responsibilities



1.9. Maintain good working relationships within the team and with any other relevant people such as health professionals, relatives and friends of the people we support.

2.0 To provide support through being flexible around shifts, which may include sleeping in and waking night duties, weekends and bank holidays using a rota system based on the needs of the people being supported.

2.1. Assist in the administration and operation of services. This includes daily reporting, health & safety checks, attending person centered reviews and taking on additional responsibilities to ensure of safety and quality care and support.

2.2 Identify and report any maintenance and security issues linked to the building and equipment.

2.3 In the absence of a senior staff member, to be the responsible person on duty, complying with policies and procedures and ensuring the well-being of the people who use services.

2.4 Maintain confidentiality and General Data Protection Regulations in respect of people who use services, records, staff, the service and third-party information.

2.5 Act as co-ordinator/key worker for people who use services as required.

2.6 To attend supervisions and team meetings as required to ensure that effective communications within services are shared and maintained to strive for improvements and enhance personal development.

Health and Safety



2.8. Meet Health and Safety requirements of the organisation and of the law.

2.9. To attend training as requested by the Registered Manager and to complete updates around training in a timely manner. This includes completing the organization's induction training within a 12-week period.

3.0 To participate in the governance of carrying weekly and monthly health and safety checks to ensure services are delivering a safe standard of care within its environment and surroundings.

Other



3.1. Undertake any other duties consistent with the objectives of the post, as required by Senior Support Workers & Registered Manager.

3.2. Shift patterns are 8pm-8am or 8pm-7am

3.3. Must have a UK driving license and access to own vehicle.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 48 per week
