Support Young Lives Through the Night - Be the Calm When It Matters Most

When the world is quiet, your presence can mean everything.
At Liberi Care in Tottenham, we're looking for Waking Nights Residential Support Workers who can offer stability, reassurance, and safety to young people aged 10-17 who may be experiencing trauma, anxiety, or emotional challenges.

Waking Night staff are the heartbeat of our homes through the night - providing calm, consistent care that helps young people feel secure and supported, setting them up for a brighter start each morning. Your work doesn't just "cover the night"; it shapes the way a young person experiences safety and trust.

If you're patient, emotionally resilient, and passionate about making a difference, this is your chance to play a truly meaningful role.

Why This Role Stands Out

Powerful Night-Time Impact:

Your presence offers stability and security when young people are most vulnerable, helping them feel safe, valued, and cared for.

Purposeful Shifts:

3-4 night shifts a week give you a balanced work-life rhythm while making a lasting impact.

Supportive Team Culture:

Join a values-led, collaborative team that prioritises reflective practice, professional growth, and emotional support.

Foundational Role:

Waking night teams provide the consistency that allows daytime work to thrive -- your contribution is essential, not secondary.

Your Role as a Waking Nights Support Worker

You'll play a critical role in safeguarding and supporting young people overnight, creating a calm and nurturing environment. Through vigilance, empathy, and trauma-informed practice, you'll ensure every young person feels safe and cared for.

Key responsibilities include:

Monitoring the safety and wellbeing of young people through regular checks. Providing reassurance and emotional support throughout the night. Responding to incidents or distress with calm, trauma-informed approaches. De-escalating challenging behaviour and following safeguarding procedures. Maintaining accurate records of incidents, observations, and welfare concerns. Conducting room, fire, and perimeter checks to maintain a safe environment. Administering medication and updating MAR records. Completing domestic tasks such as cleaning and laundry. Supporting breakfast preparation and morning routines. Delivering thorough handovers to ensure smooth shift transitions. Participating in mandatory training, supervision, and reflective sessions.

What You'll Bring

Minimum 1 year of experience in residential childcare or a similar care setting (preferred). Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it. Calm, nurturing, and observant approach with strong emotional resilience. Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills. Solid understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care. Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential.

What You'll Gain

Salary of 28,000 - 29,000 per annum. Comprehensive induction, training, and ongoing professional development. A supportive, inclusive, and values-driven team culture. Regular reflective supervision and access to therapeutic training. A deeply rewarding role where your presence has a lasting impact on young lives.

Every Night Counts

Waking night support isn't background work - it's foundational.
You'll be the steady, trusted presence young people can rely on when the world feels uncertain. By offering reassurance, care, and consistency through the night, you'll help build the emotional safety they need to face each day with confidence.
