Social Care Consultant - Ofsted Children's Residential Services

Location:

Remote, with regular travel across the South East (including Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, and surrounding areas)

Salary:

50,000 - 65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

About the Role

As Responsible Individual, you'll take on a senior leadership position with strategic accountability for quality, compliance, and performance across a portfolio of children's homes. Working closely with Registered Managers, you will ensure every service provides outstanding, child-focused care while meeting all regulatory and safeguarding standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:



Leading and overseeing multiple residential children's homes across the South East. Ensuring homes are fully compliant with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Regulations 2015. Providing strategic guidance and support to Registered Managers to deliver exceptional standards of care. Leading on safeguarding implementation, ensuring robust practices are embedded at every level. Preparing and supporting services through Ofsted inspections, aiming for 'Good' or 'Outstanding' outcomes. Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence. Managing budgets, resources, and workforce planning effectively. Building and maintaining strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies. Leading on staff training, development, and performance management to build high-performing teams.
About You

We're looking for a confident, experienced leader who can bring strategic vision, operational expertise, and a genuine commitment to children's welfare. You'll bring:

At least 3 years' experience in a senior leadership role within children's residential care (required). NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve this). A strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding legislation, and Quality Standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. A proven ability to drive service improvement and deliver outstanding outcomes. A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the South East.
