Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tour Guide to lead visitors through various attractions, providing engaging and informative commentary. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for sharing local history, culture, and stories while ensuring a memorable experience for all guests. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with diverse audiences.

Duties

Conduct guided tours of designated sites, ensuring all visitors receive accurate and interesting information. Engage with guests by answering questions and encouraging interaction throughout the tour. Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while managing group dynamics. Prepare and organise tour materials, including maps, brochures, and audio-visual aids. Ensure the safety and comfort of all participants during tours, adhering to health and safety regulations. Continuously update knowledge of local history, culture, and attractions to enhance the tour experience. Collect feedback from guests to improve future tours.

Skills

Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and engagingly. Strong interpersonal skills to connect with a diverse range of individuals. A good sense of timing and pacing to keep tours on schedule while allowing for guest interaction. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong organisational skills to manage logistics effectively. A passion for history, culture, or storytelling is highly desirable.
