Cawingredients supply high volume soft drinks principally to the UK market. We operate from a state of the art production and warehousing facility based on one site in North Yorkshire.

We are seeking to recruit a Warehouse Academy Operative to support our growing team. This is an entry level role into the business, which will allow for new skills to be learnt and for a career to developed. The academy training will last of 12 months. The starting annual salary will be 26,000, then to 26,780 after 12 months.

If you are successful within the academy you will be developed and will progress into a FLT Drivers position, whereby your earning potential will increase over the following two years to a salary of 34,928.64.

Working under the direction of the Warehouse Shift Manager, you would need to be an engaging and enthusiastic person, who will assist in a broad spectrum of operations to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the Department.

Your main role will be to maintain the smoothing operation of the warehouse and production lines using fork lift trucks to move finished goods. You will be trained to perform a full range of logistics tasks such as loading and shipping products for sale, moving product in storage areas and examining products to check that they comply with quality standards.

A full Training Framework will be delivered through a 12 month in-house mentorship programme.

As an Academy Operative you will be accountable for the safe and efficient use of any manual handling equipment or vehicles which you operate.

Duties & Responsibilities:



Meet defined milestones as part of an agreed Training Framework.

Operate powered industrial pallets trucks to load and unload materials.

Organise orders for distribution and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities.

Checking that loads are secure.

Perform daily equipment checks and Pre-Use Checks.

Perform basic maintenance tasks such as recharging vehicle batteries, topping-up battery fluid levels, lubricating equipment and other preventative maintenance as required.

Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.

Fulfill and complete all procedural requirements and paperwork.

Keep the warehouse, working areas and grounds clean and tidy at all times.

Skills & Experience:



Ability to work unsupervised and often in a time pressured environment

Physical demands and abilities:

Must be able to lift and move boxes of up to 20kg. Ability to undertake physical activities and standing occasionally for long periods of time

Regularly standing on and operating a powered industrial truck

Good eye-hand-foot coordination

Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 06:00 - 14:00, with the ability to then transition onto shift working 6-2/2-10/10-6 in line with progression within the role.
