Responsibilities

Assist with warehouse distribution activities, including loading, unloading, and organizing shipments using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment. Perform order picking with RF scanners and pickers to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. Operate heavy machinery such as cranes, forklifts, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment in compliance with OSHA safety standards. Manage shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining accurate records within the warehouse management system. Handle materials with care during loading and unloading operations, ensuring safe lifting techniques for heavy loads. Support warehouse supervision by maintaining a clean, organized workspace and adhering to safety protocols at all times. Conduct regular inspections of equipment like forklifts and cranes; perform basic mechanical troubleshooting when necessary. Assist in inventory management tasks including stock replenishment, cycle counts, and storage organization. Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow efficiency and meet daily operational goals.

Requirements

Proven experience in warehouse distribution or related roles; prior warehouse supervisor experience is a plus. Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment safely and effectively. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking technologies such as pickers. Strong understanding of materials handling procedures and OSHA safety standards. Mechanical knowledge or experience with heavy equipment maintenance is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining proper ergonomic techniques. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for shipping & receiving documentation accuracy. Construction or logistics background can be beneficial but not required. Valid certifications for forklift operation or crane operation are preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided for qualified candidates.
