Warehouse Assistant/Machine Operator - Permanent Role

We are a Hampshire based creative furniture company designing and manufacturing commercial furniture within the UK. We are currently a team of 60 with ambitious growth plans.

Rawside design and manufacture high quality furniture for the contract market. Most of our customers are within the UK, but we have recently completed a number of successful projects in Europe and expect to expand into these markets. Our environmental credentials are a key part of our business and having recently been certified as a BCorp business we are keen to improve our positive impact on the environment, our community and our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for an organised and motivated box machine operator and warehouse assistant to join our team. You will be trained on our CNC box making machine and responsible for the operation and output of custom packaging for our products and components. You will work closely with the assembly team and also be part of the packing and palletising team. You will also be trained on the cardboard baling machine and responsible for recycling excess and used cardboard. Once trained and experienced, we would like you to be proactive and learn the art of making boxes and packaging in the most sensible, durable and economical way for shipping. The ideal candidate would be fit and healthy, comfortable working on their feet, be a good communicator, and have very good counterbalance forklift, stacker, and reach truck experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Learn how to operate the CNC box maker and be responsible for the safety, running, and maintenance Learn how to operate the cardboard baling machine for excess cardboard to be ready for recycling Work closely with Assembly and Warehouse teams to ensure packaging is ready for completion dates Build a library of standard packaging designs and continuously improve packaging efficiency Communicate with your colleagues to ensure jobs are packed safely, carefully and efficiently and in time for shipping

Experience & Skills Required

Some experience in warehouse roles and operating machinery Physically able to carry out above duties in a safe manner Able to work independently and in a team Basic but competent level of IT knowledge in order to be able to use a PC terminal A good level of spoken and written English UK driving licence Ability to be flexible with hours to suit deadlines

Bonus scheme:

We operate an annual bonus scheme based upon Company and Personal performance

Holidays:

20 days for first year and 25 days thereafter (excluding public holidays)

Schedule

Monday to Friday with mix of start times to suit work level and colleagues. Start times range between 7am and 8am (hours may need to be flexed to suit deliveries and work schedules).

Overtime regularly available

Pay: 29,000.00-31,000.00 per year
