Role overview
This is an entry-level, hands-on role supporting warehouse operations, deliveries, and assisting on-site engineering teams. With ongoing training and practical experience, you will work toward becoming a qualified Robotics & Catering Engineer, with the potential for a higher salary and a company vehicle.
Key responsibilities
Support warehouse operations: receive, inspect, store, pick, pack, and prepare equipment for dispatch.
Maintain inventory accuracy: label items, update stock records, assist with stock counts and report discrepancies.
Prepare and load deliveries; complete delivery paperwork (notes, manifests).
Deliver catering equipment to customer sites safely and on schedule; liaise professionally with site contacts.
Assist engineers on site as a second man: aid installations, basic hookups, equipment handling, and troubleshoot under supervision.
Train and assist with cleaning and food-service robots: basic operation, maintenance, cleaning protocols, and safe handling.
Follow health & safety procedures; keep the warehouse and vehicle clean and organised.
Perform routine checks on vehicles and equipment; report defects promptly.
Support logistics planning: coordinate schedules, update delivery statuses, and escalate issues.
Requirements
Willingness to learn and complete training toward engineer qualification.
Physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy equipment safely.
Able and willing to work away from home when required to assist engineers on site.
Flexible attitude to cover varied duties and occasional weekend work.
Full UK driving license preferred (please specify if held).
Relevant experience: plumbing qualification preferred.
General work experience, including warehouse, deliveries, or site assistance, desirable.
Must provide good professional references.
Training & progression
Apprenticeship-style training toward Robotics & Catering Engineer qualification with clear milestones (target progression within 24 months, subject to performance).
Manual handling.
Forklift truck (LOLER/operational) training.
First aid.
Health & safety (site and workplace) training.
Mentoring and practical on-site experience; opportunity for a company vehicle upon qualification.
