Position Overview



The

Inventory & logistics manager

is responsible for the efficient, safe, and accurate flow of all materials and finished goods into and out of the facility. This role ensures robust inventory control, optimal storage solutions, and timely dispatch processes to support internal production and external customer delivery schedules. The candidate will lead the stores/warehouse sector of the UK entity, drive continuous improvement in logistics processes, and ensure full compliance with safety and legal requirements related to materials handling and storage.

Key Responsibilities



Goods Inward, Outward & Inventory Management



Oversee all day-to-day goods receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch activities, ensuring smooth and efficient material flow. Plan, schedule, and prioritise workloads for goods receipt and dispatch to meet production deadlines and customer delivery requirements. Ensure accurate inspection and documentation of all incoming deliveries against purchase orders, identifying and reporting any discrepancies. Manage and maintain stock accuracy through regular cycle counting and inventory audits, resolving stock variances promptly through our SAP B1 inventory system. Coordinate outgoing shipments, ensuring correct documentation (e.g., delivery notes, customs forms) is completed accurately and on time across Europe. Manage the physical layout and organisation of the warehouse/stores for maximum efficiency, safety, and inventory control.

Leadership & Team Management



Ensure effective communication within the sales department and Production team departments. Promote a positive, safe, and productive working environment.

Health, Safety & Compliance



Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation on logistical portion of the business, company policies, and industry standards related to lifting, materials handling, and warehouse operations - (Will be also supported from managing director ). Maintain 7 support accurate records of inspections, incidents, and compliance documentation (COSHH will be managed by First aid team (Managing Director ). Drive a strong safety culture throughout the stores and goods movement areas.

Inventory Accuracy & Process Improvement



Ensure all inventory transactions are recorded accurately and match system data (ERP/WMS). Identify opportunities to improve inbound, storage, and outbound processes, focusing on efficiency and cost control. Work closely with Production and Sales Admin teams to resolve material shortages or dispatch issues.

Budget & Resource Management



Manage department budgets, including labour, consumables, and materials handling equipment maintenance. Monitor cost efficiency and support cost-saving initiatives related to logistics and storage. Ensure accurate documentation and reporting on goods movement and stock levels.

Skills & Qualifications



Essential



Proven experience in managing a warehouse, stores, or logistics department (Goods Inward/Outward).

Mandatory Forklift Licence

(Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck). Strong leadership and people management skills. Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance related to warehouse operations. Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in IT systems, inventory management software (ERP/WMS), and Microsoft Office.

Desirable



Relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience. Experience within manufacturing, heavy equipment, or related sectors. Training in NEBOSH/IOSH or similar safety certification preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: 25,000.00-28,000.00 per year
