Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic
Warehouse & Logistics Coordinator
to support our Transport Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career advancement for candidates with warehouse experience looking to take the next step into a supervisory position.
In this role, you will manage daily operations and assume leadership responsibilities in the Transport Manager's absence, ensuring seamless warehouse functionality and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Supervise warehouse staff including agency workers and forklift operators.
Assign and prioritise daily tasks to meet operational targets and objectives.
Foster a collaborative team environment and resolve conflicts effectively.
Assist in training new employees and provide ingoing coaching to enhance team skills.
Operations Management
Oversee inventory management, product distribution, and stock level monitoring.
Implement efficient storage strategies to optimise warehouse space utilisation.
Ensure products meet quality standards through rigorous quality control processes.
Manage the order fulfilment process for accurate and timely packing and distribution.
Systems & Documentation
Collaborate with the Transport Manager on creating loading schedules and delivery routes.
Ensure accurate preparation and organisation of all deliver documentation.
Use internal systems to track inventory, investigate order details, and generate reports.
Maintenance & Safety
Conduct routine inspections of warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet trucks)
Enforce safety protocols and proper PPE usage throughout the warehouse.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with manual handling guidelines and safety procedures.
Requirements - Essential Qualifications
Valid Full UK Driving License.
Occasionally help with deliveries as and when required.
Physical fitness and strength for handling heavy packages.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word, and internal ERP systems.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime as required.
Impeccable attendance and time management record.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor.
Background in furniture manufacturing/distribution.
Experience managing warehouse team and operations.
Counterbalance Forklift Licence would be advantageous.
Critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
Hours:
Monday - Friday 07:30am - 16:30pm (40-hour week)
Breaks:
1-hour unpaid lunch break
