The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in driving efficiency, safety, and team morale within the distribution & manufacturing departments
The Operations Manager at Sunflex is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the distribution and manufacturing process during their assigned shift. The primary objective is to ensure efficient, safe, and productive handling of goods, maintaining high standards of service, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs). This role involves managing a teams, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
What you'll be doing
Team Management:
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of warehouse/Manfacturing operatives and supervisors.
Conduct regular team meetings, briefings, and performance reviews.
Adopt a positive and inclusive work environment.
Operational Oversight:
Plan and organize daily workload to ensure timely and efficient processing of orders.
Monitor and manage workflow, productivity, and quality standards.
Ensure the proper use and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
Health and Safety:
Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Ensure all incidents, accidents, and near misses are reported and investigated.
Performance Management:
Track and analyse KPIs related to productivity, accuracy, and service levels.
Identify areas for improvement and implement action plans to enhance performance.
Report performance metrics to senior management and recommend strategic improvements.
Inventory Control:
Oversee inventory management to ensure accuracy and availability.
Conduct regular stock checks and coordinate with the inventory control team.
Address discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Communication and Coordination:
Liaise with other managers and departments to ensure seamless operations.
Communicate effectively with the team, providing clear instructions and feedback.
Coordinate with suppliers, transport teams, and external partners as needed.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
Stay updated with industry best practices and implement relevant changes.
