Warehouse Operations Manager
to lead our fast-paced warehouse operations within the
FMCG / Food sector.
This is a critical leadership role where you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a dynamic warehouse team, ensuring high levels of productivity, efficiency, and compliance. The Role:
Operational Leadership:
Manage all aspects of warehouse operations including goods-in, storage, picking, and dispatch.
Lead and support a team of Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders and approximately 20 indirect reports.
Ensure smooth daily operations with a focus on accuracy, productivity, and safety.
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate stock levels through regular stock checks.
Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies promptly.
Order Fulfilment:
Ensure accurate and timely dispatch of customer orders in coordination with transportation teams.
Process Improvement & Cost Control:
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce operational costs without compromising service quality.
Monitor and control warehouse expenses within agreed budgets.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all relevant health and safety legislation and food safety regulations. Promote a safety-first culture through training, audits, and proactive incident prevention.
Team Management & Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse team members.
Manage resources balancing agency requirements with budgetary constraints and control of headcount.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and training. Support succession planning and team capability growth.
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and present regular reports on KPIs, stock levels, pick performance, and operational costs.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure warehouse operations meet all regulatory requirements, including Food Hygiene, HACCP, and industry best practices.
Continuous Improvement:
Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Lead initiatives that enhance service delivery, safety, and operational performance.
When will I work?
Full-Time, permanent, on a 5-day Sun-Thurs shift pattern, contracted to 40hrs per week, with start times between 18:00 and 02:00. May require flexibility in working hours to meet operational demands.

Skills and Experience required:
Proven experience managing warehouse operations within the
FMCG or Food sector
Strong knowledge of
ERP
and
Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop
high-performing teams
Success in managing
profitable and efficient warehouse operations
Skilled in
problem-solving, decision-making, and change management
Experience working with
data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Prior experience with
budgetary and P&L responsibilities
Passionate about
