We are seeking a highly skilled Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee our warehouse operations and ensure the efficient management of logistics and supply chain processes. This is a role where you can truly make a difference and join a positive team to deliver exceptional results.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in warehouse management, with proven experience in supervising teams and implementing process improvements. This role is crucial for optimising our operations, enhancing productivity, and maintaining high standards of service. We are looking for a people focused leader and communicator with a drive, and skillset, to make positive change.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of 40 staff, with 3 direct reports, over 3 shifts.
Provide leadership and set standards for site Health and Safety behaviours.
Ensure all colleagues are working to process, providing coaching and developing improvement ideas to support KPI's.
Maintain strong levels of housekeeping, and warehouse maintenance, including racking safety.
Support with the ownership of our bespoke WMS system - including user access, operational training, compliance, and issue escalation. All personnel WMS responsibility sits within your remit, with IT to support with development, upkeep and maintenance.
Responsible for root cause resolution of all warehouse-related service issues raised via escalation in a timely manner.
Manage shift absence, RTW meetings, disciplinary outcomes and welfare meetings.
Be responsible for all elements of shift performance with Root Cause Analysis, Interim Actions and Permanent Corrective Actions raised to line manager for any failures.
Take ownership of warehouse training needs, including induction for new staff, refresher training, and skills audits
Celebrate team success and ensure team members are heard and appreciated.
Skills
Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment.
Expertise in process improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
Knowledge of supply chain principles and logistics best practices.
Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control.
Experience with shipping & receiving processes, including documentation requirements.
Previous warehouse experience is essential, with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
