Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Operative to be involved in day to day warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of picking and packing environments and have a solid understanding of warehouse processes, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards. This role is crucial in maintaining the organisation and productivity of our warehouse.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. Manage the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling of materials. This will include unloading of containers. Oversee shipping and receiving processes, verifying that all shipments are accurate and complete. Utilise the Warehouse Management System to track inventory levels, manage stock locations, and facilitate order fulfilment. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Assist with heavy lifting as required, ensuring that all team members are following proper lifting techniques to prevent injury. Collaborate with management to implement improvements in warehouse operations. Welcome customers into our shop, assist with product inquiries, and provide knowledgeable support (when trained) and enhance the customer experience.

Skills

Experience in warehouse environments, with a strong understanding of logistics and inventory management. Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for effective tracking and reporting. Ability to build strong relationships within the team while fostering a positive work environment. Competence in load unloading processes to ensure safe handling of goods. Knowledge of shipping and receiving protocols to streamline operations. Strong materials handling skills, with an emphasis on safety practices during heavy lifting tasks.
Hours: Mon-Fri / 09:00 - 17:30 Saturdays 10:00 - 14:00 with time off during the week

Person with own vehicle preferred.
