We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by performing various tasks related to the handling, storage, and distribution of goods. This position requires a proactive individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards.

Duties

Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage. Pick and pack orders accurately for shipping, following company procedures. Stock shelves and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that all items are organised and easily accessible. Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and manage stock levels efficiently. Assist with shipping and receiving processes, verifying the accuracy of shipments against packing lists. Perform materials handling tasks, including moving heavy items safely throughout the warehouse. Operate forklifts and other machinery as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly. Collaborate with team members to ensure a clean and organised work environment.

Skills

Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable, with knowledge of stock management practices. Proficiency in operating forklifts and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS). Strong skills in materials handling, including heavy lifting capabilities. Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting equipment issues. Experience in construction or related fields can be beneficial for understanding warehouse operations. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills with a focus on efficiency and productivity. Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: 12.74 per hour
