Warehouse Operative - Gateshead

Salary:

Starting at 12.25 per hour (to be reviewed after a 6-month probation period and increased subject to performance)

Working Hours:

37.5 hours per week, rotating shift pattern

Monday to Friday: 6:00am - 2:00pm Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm - 10:00pm / Friday: 12:00pm - 8:00pm

We are currently looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our busy Gateshead site. This hands-on role involves working as part of a close-knit team responsible for picking and preparing steel orders, loading and unloading wagons, and operating machinery such as overhead cranes, side loaders, saws, and shot blast & paint equipment.

We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:

Experience working in a steel stockholding or heavy-duty warehouse environment is desirable, but not essential - full training will be provided. A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. A good level of literacy and numeracy. The ability to work accurately and follow instructions carefully. Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. A commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards. Pride in completing tasks to a high standard and following company procedures. Willingness to take part in training and ongoing development. A proactive approach to keeping the warehouse clean, safe, and well-organised. Confidence in carrying out quality checks and general warehouse duties. Previous experience operating cranes or lifting equipment is an advantage - if not, full training will be given to ensure you're confident and competent in the role.
