General Traffic Ashington - Warehouse Operative/Delivery Driver

Since the first branch of General Traffic opened in 1983, our family business has grown to be one of the largest distributors of Vehicle Parts and Tyres in the North and Midlands. We operate from 43 branches with three distribution Hubs receiving deliveries direct from the manufacturers continually replenishing our branch stocks.

We stock an extensive range of premium quality car parts for all makes and models - supplied by original equipment manufacturers including Jurid, Duckhams, Purflux, INA, NGK, Bosch, LUK and Hankook Tyres...

We operate a large fleet of delivery vans providing a delivery within the hour to our trade account customers.

The Role

This role involves supporting the Warehouse and Dispatch team and from time to time delivering parts to our customers.

The warehouse (goods in) duties require a keen eye for detail, accuracy and organisation. This will be the main aspect of the role. The successful candidate will be trained in every aspect of the warehouse role. An ability to learn how to use our computer system is essential.

The role will involve daily stocktaking, returns processing, checking in supplier and Hub deliveries accurately and correctly locating the parts in our warehouse. Picking and packing parts for transfer to other branches will also form a large part of the role.

The dispatch (goods out) duties have similar detail and accuracy requirements combined with a level of fitness and energy for picking parts from around the warehouse in an efficient manner.

When delivering parts to our customers, a general knowledge of the Wigan area, is essential along with an appreciation of customer service values and priorities. It's very important to help maintain our great relationship with all our customers. We can only accept candidates who have held a full uk driving licence for 2 years or more.

The role is full-time, 44.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 8:30 - 5:30 and alternate Saturday mornings 8:30 -12:30.
