Warehouse Operative/Driver.

Location:

Colchester, Essex

Hours:

8.30am - 6.00pm, Monday - Friday with a 60 minute lunch break.

Salary:

27,183.00 per year.

Job Function:



The preparation and dispatch of daily orders, receiving goods in and warehouse stock management duties. Relief driver duties to cover as required.

Main Duties:



Dispatch & Deliveries



Running delivery notes. Picking items from stock and ensuring all orders are prepared for delivery. Ensuring all routes are prepared for departure in the morning. Preparing and dispatching orders by courier/mail. Recording all delivery and dispatch information. Supporting holidays & absence with driver cover for deliveries as required. Assisting in the use of route planning software

Goods Inwards



Accepting deliveries ensuring goods accurately match delivery documentation. Checking deliveries received against delivery documentation, in good condition and acceptable for stock/dispatch. Accurately booking in goods received against outstanding Purchase Orders. Identifying and processing any shortages, discrepancies, damages in a timely manner. Processing goods for dispatch or stock to be put away.

Stock Control & Management



Daily put away of incoming goods received. Movement of stock and update of locations on warehouse system. Replenishing of pick points daily for morning despatch. Preparing supplier returns for collection.

General Warehouse



Ensuring the Warehouse is kept clean and tidy. Ensuring warehouse & vehicle supplies are regularly stock checked and replenished with adequate supplies. Ensuring Recycling/Waste is correctly disposed of and collected by appropriate suppliers. Equipment is checked and maintained including forklift, ladders and trollies. Assisting with in-house maintenance, as required.

Qualities and Skills required



Planning and Organising - the ability to plan a working day, to manage the volume of work and ensure that you meet any time sensitive requirements. Adaptability - to show flexibility in managing the changes in daily volumes, customer requests and business requirements. Flexibility - to be happy to take instructions and adapt to the daily requirements Customer Orientation - to be well presented at all times, taking care and pride in the service provided and seeking to assist customers & suppliers to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Communication - to be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, temporary staff and contractors to ensure there is clear understanding of requirements and expectations. Awareness - to be conscious of Health & Safety and safe working practices within the work environment and to take responsibility for seeing it is applied. Quality & Accuracy - maintain high service standards and manage work in an accurate and reliable manner.

Equipment Required



Access to a PC & Labelling Equipment. General warehouse equipment - Forklift, Pallet trucks, Ladder & trollies Forklift. To complete job requirements outlined above.

Minimum requirements



Full, clean driving licence for a 3.5t vehicle. Experience driving a Forklift.

Aptitudes



Attention to detail. A strong customer service ethic. Practical, hands-on approach to problem solving on the job. Strong IT literacy

Communication Skills



Able to effectively communicate with and understand requests from customers, managers and other staff members. Ability to manage and communicate clearly with warehouse colleagues.

Experience



Experience of warehouse environment with particular experience in stock management activities and despatch.
