: Afternoon Shift Warehouse Operative

Shift: 14:00 - 22:00 (Monday to Friday)

Salary: 27,289.60 per annum

Location: APLE Transport Solutions, MK43 OUT

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Purpose of the Role

To ensure the safe, accurate, and timely handling of goods during overnight operations, including trailer loading/unloading, pallet processing, and vehicle preparation. The role supports continuity across logistics flows and contributes to maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Trailer Operations Unload and load inbound/outbound trailers (including Fortec, Nexans, and Pallet Network) Ensure correct pallet placement and secure loading practices Pallet Handling Scan, label, and mark pallets accurately for dispatch or storage Process returns and prepare outbound pallets for next-day delivery Vehicle Preparation Assist with double decker opening and van loading as required Support early morning dispatch readiness (John Lewis, Waitrose, etc.) Storage & Picking Pick and stage storage pallets for next-day operations Maintain clear and safe bay areas throughout the shift Documentation & Systems Use scanning equipment and systems to record pallet movements Complete shift logs and handover notes for continuity Team Support Collaborate with day and evening teams during shift overlap Assist colleagues when available and contribute to a respectful, fair team culture
Skills & Requirements

Experience in warehouse or logistics operations preferred Valid forklift or MHE certification desirable Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Strong attention to detail and safety awareness Willingness to support team rotation and cross-training initiatives

PPE must be worn at all times Role includes physical tasks and prolonged sitting and standing
