We are seeking a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. This role involves operating heavy equipment, managing materials, and ensuring efficient warehouse distribution processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse operations, forklift operation, and materials handling, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Operate forklifts to load, unload, and move materials safely within the warehouse.
Perform order picking to fulfill shipping and receiving orders accurately.
Handle heavy lifting tasks and assist with materials handling
Manage shipping and receiving activities
Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment to ensure mechanical safety and proper functioning
Assist in the organization of warehouse space for optimal storage and retrieval efficiency.
Support warehouse supervision in maintaining safety protocols and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse operations and equipment usage.
Qualifications
Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, or related roles within a warehouse environment.
Valid certification for forklift operation;
Prior experience in shipping & receiving processes is preferred.
Excellent attention to detail, safety awareness, and ability to work effectively as part of a team. This role is integral to maintaining efficient warehouse operations while prioritizing safety and accuracy in all tasks performed.
The role will be working split shifts, Monday 4.30pm until 7.30pm, Tuesday to Friday 5.00am until 9.00am and 4.30pm until 7.30pm and Saturday 5.00am until 9.00am.
