Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operative/Van Driver to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of warehouse duties in our Devauden warehouse and making local deliveries, ensuring efficient operations and maintaining high standards of safety and organisation. An ability to work alone and use initiative to ensure efficiency and organisation is essential for this role.

Duties

Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of goods and materials. Load and unload products from lorries, ensuring accurate placement in designated areas. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Full forklift training will be provided if necessary. Picking and receiving orders, verifying the accuracy of orders against shipping documents. Maintaining an organised warehouse environment by following proper storage procedures. Utilise a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking inventory levels and managing stock movement. Conduct routine inspections of equipment, performing basic repairs as necessary. Apply basic maths skills for inventory management and order processing. Making local deliveries of animal feed and bedding in our company van and providing efficient and friendly customer service.
Qualifications

Previous experience in a warehouse or materials handling role. Clean driving licence (essential) Proficiency in operating forklifts; certification is a plus, however not essential as training and qualifications can be provided. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) consistently throughout the shift. Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations is desirable. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are essential for maintaining accurate inventory records. A proactive attitude towards safety practices within the workplace is required.
