Purpose

To effectively manage through an established team the day-to-day operations of a 24/7 high volume, fast-paced warehouse business unit across several in house and satellite sites to not only meet but exceed production and customer demands and expectations.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Management of the warehouse and effective control of goods receipt and despatch accurately within the operation whilst on shift.
• Ensure accurate stock control across the business units, FIFO, P.I checks, Purity.
• Ensure all customer orders are completed in a timely manner, identifying any shortfalls and corrective actions.
• Review team performance against pre-agreed targets.
• Efficient handling and correction of any damaged goods before being delivered to customers.
• Working closely with Warehouse / Transport Support Managers addressing any human resources related activities
• With the Warehouse / Transport Support Managers review customer complaints claims for your given shift and agree corrective actions
• Maintaining and promote health and safety standards in accordance with HASAWA
• Ensure staffing levels are controlled across your shift and any sickness absence cover to meet the needs of the business are fulfilled.
• Ensure full legal compliance of all MHE\'s (Daily and weekly safety checks)
• Ensure all team members are fully compliant to controlled documentation including SOP and RA\'s
• Promote an environment that fosters open and positive team communication
• Identify any training requirements across your shift

What makes you great

Experience / (Knowledge/Skills/Behaviours)

• People management skills, within an FMCG environment.
• Working knowledge of day-to-day warehouse functions and 3PL transportation
• Basic understanding of a WMS (Warehouse Management System)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and high standards of organizational ability.
• Able to meet tight deadlines, ensuring quality is not compromised.
• Working knowledge of PC packages, essentially MS Office suits (essential), bespoke MIS experience would be advantageous.
• An understanding of Lean techniques and principles (Kaizen,5\'s, Six Sigma) - Manufacturing Excellence would be advantageous
• Food Safety Awareness - desirable, relevant food manufacturing experience,
• Health and Safety awareness ideally IOSH trained
• Counterbalance FLT license would be advantageous
