Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Manager to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid background in warehouse management. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient processes, maintaining safety standards, and managing a team to achieve operational goals. Your expertise in logistics and materials handling will be crucial in optimising our workflow.

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off 12 hour shift

Responsibilities

Supervise daily warehouse operations and manage team performance to ensure productivity targets are met. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in operations. Oversee shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliveries. Utilise the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for inventory control and tracking purposes. Conduct regular training sessions for staff on safety protocols, equipment operation, and best practices. Manage materials handling tasks, including heavy lifting as required, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Coordinate logistics activities, including liaising with third-party logistics (3PL) providers when necessary. Maintain equipment by performing routine checks and troubleshooting mechanical issues as they arise. Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role is essential. Strong knowledge of materials handling, shipping & receiving processes, and logistics operations. Familiarity with forklift operation; certification is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce. A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on process improvement initiatives.
