Job Introduction

Are you ready to take the lead in one of the UK's most advanced automated distribution centres? Based at our state-of-the-art Omega Distribution Centre, located at the Omega Business Park, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager to play a key role in driving operational excellence.


In this senior leadership role, you'll oversee the control room and automation functions, ensuring a seamless material flow through our high-volume warehouse operation. Working cross-functionally across Automation, Goods In, Manual, and Stock Control, you'll lead, coach, and develop your team of Section Managers to deliver outstanding performance, meet safety standards, and exceed operational targets.


Your ability to balance people leadership with strong operational focus will be key to success. You'll proactively manage change, optimise system performance, and support the continued growth of one of the UK's most innovative logistics operations -- ensuring every store receives the right products, at the right time, for our customers.


Job Overview

Leadership & Team Development


Lead, coach, and develop Section Managers to achieve shift KPIs, ensuring accountability and exceptional team performance across all areas.

Operational Excellence


Oversee all automation and material flow processes to maintain high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and productivity across the distribution centre.

System & Fault Management


Manage operational interruptions and breakdowns, ensuring effective escalation and resolution of issues via the helpdesk and control room.

Planning & Performance


Review operational plans with your Operations Manager, support long-term strategic initiatives, and implement changes to optimise warehouse performance.

Health, Safety & Compliance


Drive a culture of safety by ensuring 100% compliance with all H&S procedures, completing regular safety checks, and investigating incidents when required.

Cross-Functional Collaboration


Work collaboratively with Transport, Automation, IT, and Maintenance teams to align resources, manage change, and continuously improve system performance.

Continuous Improvement


Lead initiatives that enhance warehouse efficiency, product flow, and team capability, ensuring all processes align with business goals and customer expectations.

People & Culture


Lead with respect and integrity, promoting inclusivity, engagement, and a high-performance culture across all teams and shifts.


Minimum Criteria To Apply
Proven experience managing large operational teams within a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment (experience with automation is desirable). Demonstrated success in leading and developing people to achieve operational KPIs and performance goals. Experience managing business improvement and change initiatives. Strong understanding of warehouse H&S regulations and compliance processes. Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills. Highly organised with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to make sound, commercially astute decisions under pressure. A collaborative team player who can work effectively across functions to deliver results.

Package

Salary & Hours



51,714 to 58,000 per annum dependent on experience plus night shift premium if applicable (19% night shift allowance paid between 10pm - 6am). 40 hours per week. 3 on 3 off Day Shift: 7am to 7pm
Night Shift 7pm to 7am
