Team Leadership and Development



Lead and motivate a team of warehouse operatives to meet daily and weekly performance goals. Ensure all team members adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and compliance standards. Conduct regular team briefings and training sessions to promote a culture of compliance and operational excellence. Provide ongoing support and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement.

Compliance and Operational Excellence



Oversee and ensure the completion of stock checks on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy and consistency in inventory management. Lead efforts to ensure all Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) is inspected and maintained to meet compliance and operational standards. Monitor stock organization within the warehouse to maximize space utilization, efficiency, and safety. Conduct regular warehouse audits, ensuring all compliance-related documentation is completed and up-to-date. Monitor adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring safe working practices across the warehouse. Ensure all team members follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Reporting and Continuous Improvement



Provide regular compliance and performance reports to Warehouse Management, highlighting any issues or non-conformance. Lead initiatives to improve compliance performance, suggesting and implementing solutions to reduce risks and improve operational efficiency. Collaborate with other departments to drive improvements in workflows, inventory management, and equipment usage. Maintain and improve processes for tracking and reporting warehouse operations, ensuring all metrics align with company objectives and compliance standards.

Compliance Responsibilities



Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including Manual Handling and PPE requirements. Ensure all operational activities, including stock checks, equipment usage, and organization, are conducted in line with compliance policies. Oversee the maintenance of compliance documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date for internal audits. Identify potential compliance risks and proactively address them to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. Ensure all team members are trained and updated on relevant compliance standards and best practices.

What You Bring:



Skills and Experience



Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Ability to lead and inspire a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and experience using equipment like forklifts and scanners. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues. Experience with conducting audits, compliance checks, and performance reviews.

Qualifications



Strong leadership and organizational skills. Counterbalance Forklift Licence (required). * Knowledge of warehouse compliance standards and health and safety regulations (e.g., COSHH, Manual Handling) (preferred).
