Job Purpose:
The Warehouse Supervisor will be part of a supervisory team of 3 overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate inventory, optimising workflow, and leading a small warehouse team to achieve high standards of safety, productivity, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership
Supervise and lead a team of warehouse operatives
Plan daily workloads, delegate tasks, and monitor performance.
Provide training, coaching, and support to team members.
Ensure compliance with company policies and health & safety regulations.
Warehouse Operations
Oversee inbound and outbound processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Manage storage, stock rotation, and ensure inventory accuracy through regular stock checks.
Organise and maintain warehouse layout for maximum efficiency and safety.
Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and other machinery as required (with appropriate certification).
Working alongside the Warehouse Operatives on a day to day basis as part of the staffing plan
Process & Systems Management
Maintain accurate records through warehouse management systems (WMS) or manual logs.
Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs through continuous improvement and LEAN activities.
Liaise with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to coordinate deliveries and shipments.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure the warehouse operates in accordance with health and safety laws and guidelines.
Conduct regular safety checks, following risk assessments, and maintain cleanliness and organisation.
Report and investigate accidents or incidents promptly.

Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience in a supervisory/team leader role, ideally within an SME environment.
Knowledge of inventory management and logistics processes.
Forklift license (desirable).
Familiarity with health and safety regulations within a warehouse setting.
