Warehouse Supervisor

Hereford, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Are you a proactive and driven individual with a passion for logistics? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Logistics Supervisor to join our dynamic team, supporting both our Warehouse and Transport operations.

This is a predominantly days-based role, offering variety and challenge. Flexibility is essential, as you'll be expected to provide shift cover during periods of annual leave or absence across both departments.

At Hereford Contract Canning, we are proud to be a forward-thinking, inclusive, and ambitious company. Due to recent investment and new customer acquisitions, we're expanding our team and seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to play a key part in delivering operational excellence.

About the role:

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will play a key role in leading logistics operations, driving performance through Continuous Improvement methodologies, and aligning with the Company's vision, values and safety standards. The successful candidate will support the development of a high performing, engaged team by working collaboratively with other Supervisors to identify opportunities for operational enhancements across the logistics function.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

Lead and support root cause analysis of all incidents, either product or people related, implementing effective corrective actions. Ensure timely escalation of issues to relevant stakeholders. Consistently apply company procedures regarding absence management and conduction, ensuring a fair and timely resolution. Provide shift cover for Warehouse or Transport Supervisors during leave or absence. Supervise and support Stock Clerks, Transport Clerks and Warehouse Operatives in their daily activities. Identify and escalate capacity or resource challenges to stakeholders and customers. Learn and execute day-to-day tasks across both Warehouse and Transport functions. Prepare and manage statutory documentation, including HMRC and customs declarations. Ensure accurate the timely updates to systems, such as Business Central. Prepare ARCs and TSS documentation. Oversee order routing, scheduling, packing, vehicle loading and delivery coordination. Build strong relationships within the department, internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills:

A recognised leadership qualification (e.g. ILM Level 2, CMI or equivalent). Proven experience in a warehousing or distribution environment, ideally within manufacturing and in a leadership role. Strong understanding of supply chain processes and their impact on customer service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Business Central (BC) is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Minimum of Secondary School Maths and English, or NVQ Level 2. A detail-oriented problem solver with strong analytical skills. A confident communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels. Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies is desirable.
If you're ready to take the next step in your logistics career and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and help shape the future of our logistics operation.
