We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor to join us based in our newly refurbished state-of-the-art secure facility based in London SE16. The ideal candidate will be an existing Driver Technician, Art Handler or Fine Art Warehouse Technician and will work directly with clients facilitating the secure storage, packing and handling of works of art.





The key element of the job is the ability to safely handle, pack and be responsible for often fragile, valuable and unique works of Art, Antiques, heritage and museum objects so a strong background in dealing with Fine Art, Museums or Galleries sectors would be a distinct advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential in this client facing role.

Responsibilities:

Hands on artwork and object handling and packing, loading and unloading of vehicles Work closely with clients in this directly client facing role - always maintaining a professional and calm demeanour in person, over email, phone and radio Make sure all jobs on the Warehouse Management System (LEO) are being undertaken and future work has sufficient resources allocated. Help manage a team of warehouse staff and ensure they follow relevant company procedures and processes. Proactively checking schedule and virtual pinboard for incoming/outgoing jobs Maintain the warehouse inventory daily by booking items in/issuing out, change locations to ensure records are accurate and up to date by the end of the daily shift. File and maintain all relevant paperwork for jobs issued and archive appropriate documentation, providing full traceability and a chain of custody. Prepare all outgoing deliveries ahead of time in the correct area with correct paperwork Ensure the safe unloading of incoming or loading of outgoing shipments and maintaining the chain of custody whilst adhering to regulations and company policies, such as for GIS, bonded cargo or screened "known" cargo under CAA regulations Assess items received and wrap/pack using the correct packing materials Assist with client viewings and client requests and become a "go to" point of contact for clients and provide an exemplary service. Assist in the security control room and work with the Security Controller on day-to-day operations. Assist operations by escorting, travelling on or driving vehicles to and from client sites within London. Ensure any chargeable work or services are reported back to Secure Storage Manager Complete Apparent Defect Reports and condition reports as needed. Liaise with client co-ordinators when queries arise regarding items received and released, investigating any discrepancies such as size, weight, condition/damage, additional pieces, bond status or packing. Highlight and rectify any errors identified on incoming works such as missing object labels, incorrect or missing paperwork to managers and coordinators Assist with new warehouse staff inductions and training Maintain housekeeping standards to the highest level, including in client areas. Perform regular storage audits Use Hand Held Terminals (Scanners) and PC/Laptop workstations Use Material Handling Equipment such as electric stackers, fork-lift trucks, Man-Up Pickers, and pallet trucks. Oversee, track and sign out company tools and equipment required by technicians. Secure any tools or equipment in locked cupboards for security when not being used. Uphold and champion security standards, Health & Safety requirements and company protocols and at all times Ensure MHE checks and other warehouse checks are completed regularly Report warehouse repairs and necessary maintenance to facilities department Assist Warehouse Management team in procedural and policy development and implementation. Liaise with onsite contractors and assist with site escorts. Complete weekly fire alarm tests and daily health and safety audits

Working hours

:



9-hour shift worked within the hours of 04:00 - 22:00 Monday to Friday.



Generally, a core day is worked but flexibility is required within the above hours to cover any early or late requirements within the operation.



1 in 4 weeks on call.



Overtime will be required as part of this role to suit operational requirements.



Desirable qualifications and licences:




FLT licence Driving Licence Experience using Material Handling Equipment and MEWPs Confident with Microsoft Office, and email applications SIA CCTV licence
